The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom, PhD has endorsed the One Nigeria Project, an initiative of the National Association of Former Elected Loca Government Council Chairman of Nigeria (NALGON Emeritus).
This was disclosed in a press statement signed and made available to Nigerian Concord Newspaper today by Ahaji Adamu Yahaya Bello, National Publicity Secretary of NALGON EMERITUS.
Chief Ortom called on all Nigerians, leaders and stakeholders irrespective of party or religious affiliation to see the unity of Nigeria as a bigger picture, stressing that, what was needed at the time Nigerian is confronted with many challenges is the unity of purpose.
He said, there was no better time for the One Nigeria Project than now as there would be no meaningful development in the country without unity.
Chief Ortom who is also a member of the Board of Trustees o NALGON Emeritus, appreciated the association for embarking on a project of uniting Nigerians and pledged his continued support for the success of the project.
Speaking, National Chairman of NALGON Emeritus, Hon. (Barr.) Shaba Ibrahim described Chief Samuel Ortom as a courageous and outspoken leader who has genuine love for the country.
He said, as a one time local government chairman, party leader, Minister and governor, Chief Ortom remains a stakeholder in the One Nigeria Project and called on all leaders in the country to join hands with NALGON Emeritus as they take the message of hope and unity to all Nigerians.
Present to witness the endorsement were the National Secretary of NALGON Emeritus, Hon. Ikechukwu Awolonu, National Treasurer, Hon. Isaac Mtom, Zonal Chairman North Central, Hon.
