Omale warns against planned illegal LG congress, says sales of forms commence next Monday

The Chairman of the Unity Caretaker Committee of the Benue state chapter of All Progressive Congress, Chief Ben Omale has warned that no member of the party should attend any illegal local government Congress which was scheduled by a faction of the party in the state.

He also made known that any notice of local government Congress in the state will emanate from his table, stressing that sales of forms for the legitimate local government Congress will commence next week Monday

This was contained in a press statement he personally signed and made available to journalists today.

Warning unsuspecting members of the party in the state to disregard a notice which is being circulated on the social media that the party would be holding the party primaries for the Local Government (LG) elections in the state today, Saturday, Omale cautioned the APC family in Benue that just as the party would not be holding its primaries on Saturday, he said the UCC would commence the sale of forms for the forthcoming LG elections in the state at the State Secretariat of the party in Makurdi on Monday, 26th August, 2024.

Omale also urged members of the APC in Benue to remain calm and law abiding while waiting further directives on the new date for the party primaries, saying that:“The Unity Caretaker Committee of the APC, recently inaugurated by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party in Abuja has formally resumed duty at the APC state secretariat located at JS Tarka way, Makurdi, Benue State.

“I wish to inform the general public that the APC in Benue State is not holding any party primaries across the 23 local government areas of the state.

“The general public and particularly, members of the APC in the state are to disregard any notice of any primaries taking place today (Saturday).

“The party further urged all members (of the APC) to remain calm and law abiding while awaiting further directive on the new date for the party local government primaries,”
