The Chairman of the Unity Caretaker Committee of the Benue state chapter of All Progressive Congress, Chief Benjamin Omale has faulted agitations from the senator representing Benue South, Mr. Abba Moro for asking the Senate to cancel the last local government elections in the state.

He said that the motion moved on the floor of the Senate by Abba Moro and backed by Titus Zam and Emmanuel Udende three days ago was undemocratic and aimed at disturbing the development which Governor Hyacinth Alia has brought to the state.

Chief Omale also condemned the act of desperation displayed by Senator Titus Zam and Emmanuel Udende on the floor of the Senate just to discredit the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia as a result of the crisis that is rocking the the APC in Benue state.

Speaking against the agitations of the senators in a press statement signed and sent to journalists in Makurdi this afternoon, the APC caretaker chairman wondered how any “sane” human being will be calling for the cancellation of the local government elections that were conducted under a free and fair atmosphere.

According to him, there was no snatching of ballot boxes just as there was no crisis from any where across the state. He stressed that the senators should explain why they moved the motion when there was a total acceptance of the Benue voters during the announcement of the results.

Saying that it’s now that local government administration being the closest to the grassroot people needs supports from the federal government, Omale enjoined the three Benue senators to join hands with Governor Alia so he can continue with his developmental projects in the state.

Omale pressed further that calling that the election should be canceled is nothing but to further create more crisis in the party which gave them the food they are eating at the National Assembly today.

On Abba Moro, the chairman said that it has been on record that the senator is doing everything to kill the APC in Benue state after a failed attempt to use thugs from some states to halt the election last weekend.

He added that Benue state is enjoying a relative peace under the Alia-led administration, noting that anyone that tries to bring troubles into the state won’t be tolerated.

Omale however thanked President Bola Tinubu for his show of love to the Benue APC, the Father Alia-led administration and the people of the state as a whole..

He also thanked the APC national chairman, Alhaji Umar Ganduje and the members of the party’s National Working Committee for the constitution of the Caretaker Committee for the Benue chapter of the party.

Omale lauded Ganduje for sending a powerful Delegation led by the Deputy National Chairman (North) , Chief Ali Dalori to observe the last local government election in the state.

Furthermore, the chairman lauded Governor Alia for bringing development to the state since he assumed duties as governor. He said the efforts that have been made by the governor to make the Benue APC a formidable party won’t go unappreciated.

He finally thanked members of the party in Benue state for keeping faith with Governor Alia, saying that the confidence which they have reposed in the governor won’t be taken for granted.
