Omale: Alia isn’t against Tinubu’s reelection bid

Nigerian Concord Newspaper

The Chairman of the Unity Caretaker Committee of the Benue State chapter of All Progressive Congress, Chief Benjamin Omale said that it’s a lie from the pit of hell that Governor Hyacinth Alia is against the reelection bid of President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Chief Benjamin Omale made this known during a brief telephone chat with one of our reporters in Makurdi this afternoon.

According to him, how can someone put such lie in the newspaper that the governor didn’t participate in the event where it was agreed upon that President Bola Tinubu should be a sole Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress in 2027.

Omale said: “The governor was present at the APC North Central stakeholders meeting where it was first proposed that the president should be a sole Presidential candidate of the party.

“He has also been present at several meetings and even the National Summit in Abuja where it was finally ratified that President Bola Tinubu should have no rival in the party regarding the party’s Presidential ticket as a result of his unequalled achievements which he has recorded since he assumed duties”

The chairman continued that Governor Hyacinth Alia has been performing excellent well in several areas of Governance so as to make it very easy for President Bola Tinubu to win the general elections in Benue state in 2027.

“How can you now say that such person doesn’t have the reelection bid of the president in his mind”. He added.

Recall that Chief Omale had this morning said in a press statement that the governor isn’t leaving the APC for another party as reported in an online newspaper this morning..

The statement reads:

GOVERNOR ALIA REMAINS COMMITTED TO APC — BENUE APC CHAIRMAN

As the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue, I wish to categorically state that His Excellency, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has no plans whatsoever to leave the party. Any suggestion or insinuation to the contrary is nothing but a fabrication by political detractors bent on creating confusion and distracting the Governor from the good work he is doing for the people of Benue State.

Governor Alia is not only a loyal and committed member of the APC, he is also one of the strongest pillars of the party in Benue and across the North Central. Since assuming office, he has significantly expanded the party’s influence in the state through purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, and massive infrastructural development.

Under his leadership, Benue State has witnessed an unprecedented wave of development road construction, school renovations, healthcare upgrades, and rural transformation which has in turn attracted new members to the APC from across the political divide. The Governor’s performance has made the APC a party of choice for many in the state who now see a government that is truly working for the people.

It is therefore laughable for anyone to insinuate that a Governor who has done so much for the party who is building the APC stronger by the day—would contemplate leaving it. This fake narrative being peddled by enemies of progress is aimed at distracting the government and confusing the public. It will not succeed.

As the leader of the party in Benue, I strongly disown and distance the APC from this fake report. We stand solidly with Governor Alia and reaffirm our full confidence in his leadership. He remains our governor, our party leader, and a shining example of APC governance at the state level.

We urge our members and the general public to disregard these baseless claims and continue to support the administration in its quest to deliver the dividends of democracy to all Benue people under the APC banner.
