The Ado Rebirth Movement, ARM, has called on the general public to ignore the allegations which the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly is making against the chairman Ado Local Government, Hon. Oche Sunday Oche, stressing that the lawmakers is fighting the chairman of her local government just because of his unalloyed loyalty and support to the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia.

Ado Rebirth Movement stated this while making details of its independent investigation about the feud between Oche and the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Lami Danladi Ogenyi known in a press statement signed and made available to journalists this morning by its chairman, Ambassador Anthony Edeh.

Acting on a motion that was last week moved by Danladi Ogenyi, where she accused Oche of engaging in criminal activities, causing immense hardship and perpetual fear among the people of the area, the State House of Assembly set up a Committee led by Mrs Becky Orpine to investigate the chairman of Ado Local Government.

In her Motion on the floor of the House, Danladi accused the chairman of setting up an illegal Special Team with an illegal detention cell in a forest in obioge village where they keep their abductors and kidnapped victims until ransom is paid.

But in a swift reaction, the Ado Rebirth Movement which advised the leadership of the State House of Assembly to carefully investigate the accusation without any form of bias stated that the allegations from Danladi were false and aimed at bringing down the chairman of her local government without a just cause.

The group stated that Oche’s offence according to its independent investigation is that he has been building up a support base for the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia and as well canvassing seriously for his reelection in 2027.

The group pressed further that it’s because Oche has refused to join the enemies of the State government to torment Father Hyacinth Alia that turned the deputy speaker against him.

Ado Rebirth Movement proved that there are many documented instances where the deputy speaker had threatened Engineer Oche that she would ensure that he is removed from office for using the support base which he has built for Father Alia to threaten her own ambition.

According to the group, Danladi had said many times that the Benue APC stakeholders are angry with her for not being able to win the chairman of her local government to their side.

The group however pleaded with the leadership of the Benue State House of Assembly not to allow Danladi use her position as the deputy speaker to turn the revered House to a drama location.

All efforts to speak with the chairman of the Local government for his reaction proved abortive as his telephone linea were switched off as at the time of filing this report.

In a related development, the chairman of Ado local government, Engineer Sunday Oche has condemned the allegations of kidnapping and detention center which the deputy speaker had made against him.

Calling for an independent investigation, the chairman in a press statement signed by Aluma Moses, his special assistant on Media and Strategic Communication, asserted that these allegations are baseless, politically motivated, and designed to undermine his administration.

Addressing supporters and citizens in Igumale, Hon. Oche stated, “The allegations of kidnapping and operation of an illegal detention center are completely false. My administration is fully committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Ado Local Government, in alignment with Governor Alia’s transformative agenda.”

Hon. Oche highlighted the significant improvements in security within Ado LGA, directly attributable to Governor Hyacinth Alia’s security initiatives. He emphasized that actions intended to sow discord and undermine security are detrimental to the well-being of Ado’s citizens and directly contradict the government’s efforts. He further stated that the Deputy Speaker’s repeated petitions against him, since he assumed office, are solely driven by a power struggle and an attempt to impose her preferred candidate, despite his legitimate and duly elected status as Chairman.

“The people of Ezza-Ezekuna and Ado Local Government as a whole have witnessed firsthand the positive impact of improved security,” Hon. Oche said. “Anyone attempting to create insecurity does not represent the interests of our people.”

Hon. Oche calls upon the security agencies to conduct a thorough and independent investigation into these false allegations. He demands that anyone found responsible for harming or misrepresenting the actions of the Ado Local Government be held fully accountable under the law.
