In honour and loving memory of Oba Fajana – his children began the celebration of life and times with – give back and medical banaza for the elderly taken on by SamFlo foundation and Founder Princess Tosin Fajana.
During the program, medical tests were carried out, doctors and medical practitioners prescribed medication, took blood etc.
Princess Fajana said she established the SamFlo Foundation in loving memory of her fathers Samuel Kolade Fajana and Oba Fajana.
On Wed Nov 22, the Second Chance Foundation also did their charity give away to the school aged pupils with donations of clothes, shoes, school supplies, school bags and notes books. All efforts led by Princess Folake Fajana, founder Second Chance Foundation who said her Fathers memory and legacy is what she is trying to share with the people.
By 4pm the start of the celebration of life was kicked off with the 21 gun salute at the palace
Where all the school students gathered at the Ajana Afa Palace square to lead a procession around the community in loving honour of the dearly beloved monarch – Oba Fajana. It started at Ajuwa grammar school to late Obas school where he served and led as the longest serving senior prefect of the school.
After the candle light procession, HRH Princess Tayo Fajana, the Regent, Okeagbe received all the traditional salutations from all the various sectors and groups from the Kingdom.
Thursday was the Service of Songs conducted by the CAN Okeagbe. Where all the various church choirs delivered special renditions for the Late Beloved monarch.
Friday was the valedictory and outgoing service held at the St George’s Church Okeagbe by the Bishop of Akoko Diocese. Rt. Reverend Jacob Bada who described the life and times of the legendary monarch as a glorious era in the history of the ancient town of Afa Okeagbe.
Saturday Morning, the Mausoleum dedicated in loving memory of Oba Fajana was commissioned by Oba Miccah Ajijo, the Ogeloyinbo of Ayetoro. The beautiful edifice was built in the Oba Fajana Estate as a place to honour and spend private time with the monarch.
Saturday was the Lecture delivered in honour of the late Oba Fajana – a life well lived and a legacy worth emulating.
During the Lecture Prince Olaniyi Fajana – made the pronounciation of the establishment of the Oba Fajana Foundation established to continue to promote the Legacy of Oba Fajana.
The Oba Fajana Foundation announced and awarded The first set of Oba Fajana Scholars and winners of the Best Economics Student at Ajuwa Grammar and Okeagbe High School with 50k cash awards for the students from now into perpetuity.
The Annual Oba Fajana Soccer Tournament held in Honour of Oba Fajana was also announced by the foundation for Kabiyesi’s love for football and youth.
Princess Olanike Fajana as part of her contribution to the Foundation led the efforts and bought jerseys for all The Ajuwa Football team. A commitement for the entire football kit for Ajuwa Grammar School, jersey, boots, balls etc all donated to Ajuwa Grammar school.
The lecture was a wild success as the family proceeded to the Palace grounds to commission the renovation and dedication of the Fajana Royal Villa – which is the ancestral home of iya and Baba Oba Gabriel and Wuraola Fajana in loving memory of their son, Oba Oladunjoye Fajana
The Sunday service ended at CAC – Oke Ayo, Afa Okeagbe.
The iconic monarch, Oba Oladunjoye Fajana, died at a ripe old age of 82 years, having spent 32 glorious years on the throne of his forefathers.
Afa Okeagbe Community under his watch witnessed tremendous growth across all spheres while peace constantly enveloped the area throughout his time.
