Isaac Uzaan, you owe Chief Aondoakaa an apology before the trouble begins

By Aare Abiodun Oluwarotimi

Few days ago, a former Minister for Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN granted an interview on Arise TV where innocently called on a collaboration between Nigeria and the United States of America to stop the continued killings of innocent people in Benue state.

Any reasonable person would applaud Chief Aondoa for this patriotic statement. It showed the love he has for Benue State.

Immediately the interview was aired, Isaac Uzaan who is one of the media handlers of Governor Hyacinth Alia took to his Social Media page (Facebook precisely) where he abandoned the main issue in the live TV interview and started insulting the elder statesman.

Uzaan didn’t only ignore the patriotic statements in the interview, he went ahead to make several unfounded allegations against the person of Chief Kaase Aondoakaa. He actually linked the former Nigeria’s law officer to a bribery case which has long been concluded and which the former AGF didn’t even have any connection with at all.

Linking Aondoakaa to the already concluded Halliburton matter is enough to send Uzaan to court where he will answer a case of libel defamation.  He should tell the court why he chose to defame the renowned legal luminary in his quest to defend his meal ticket.

He must immediately apologize because apart from Chief Aondoakaa, the Association of Idoma Lawyers natively known as Owa Ka’Okepo Ki’Idoma has also called on the United States of America and the State of Israel to extend their military intervention in Nigeria to communities in Benue South Senatorial District, owing to the incessant killings by terrorists.

The lawyers made the call in a statement jointly signed by their Leader, Chief Godwin Obla, SAN, and President, Dr Joshua Musa, SAN, on Friday and made available to newsmen in Abuja.

They condemned in strongest term, the barbaric attack on the peaceful people of Akpa-Otobi Community in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State by persons suspected to be Fulani herders.

“We are aware that the military intervention by the United States of America has brought relief to several communities in the Northwest and Northeast regions of Nigeria.

“We are also aware that the State of Israel has volunteered to intervene in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria to stem the tides of the menace”, the lawyers said.

“We are calling on the United States of America and the State of Israel to extend their military intervention to Benue South Senatorial District to secure our land, protect lives and property and help to guarantee the dignity of the human person” the group said..

With this patriotic call by the Idoma lawyers, it’s now clear that only a military intervention from the US and Israel can stop these killings.

As an activist, I will advise my little brother, Isaac Uzaan to write an apology note and post same on his Facebook page before he is compelled by the court, under a serious heat, to do so in three national newspapers.

We won’t accept the idea of insulting elders in Benue state again just because we want to protect our meal tickets.
