Plots by two Benue governorship aspirants under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, Mr. Pius Akutah and Matthias Byuan to fund genocide in Benue state and to as well embarrass the Federal Government and the Benue State Government, using a corrupt Catholic Bishop, Wilfred Anagbe has been uncovered.
Independent investigation by Nigerian Concord Newspaper showed that the duo of Akutah and Byuan have been looting the treasuries of the Nigerian Shippers Council and the Federal Housing Authority to raise funds for militia groups to cause genocides in Benue state ahead of their formal declaration for the Benue’s top seat.
Through the instrumentation of both Akutah and Byuan, the Militia groups are being trained and camped in all the twenty three local government areas of Benue State to cause insecurity in Benue state so as to get the state out of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s control.
According to security reports at the disposal of this newspaper, the militia groups being raised by the two governorship aspirants have been linked to the increased violence and insecurity and the human rights abuses against civilians in the state.
Also, the militia groups have been accused of undermining the state government authority, exacerbation of communal conflicts and proliferation of arms and crime.
The militia groups have also been linked to kidnapping, rape and other criminal activities in the Samkera axis of the State.
Apart from funding militia groups that have been terrorising the state, this newspaper also gathered that the duo of Akutah and Byuan have colluded and raised the sum of N80 million for the corrupt Bishop of Makurdi Diocese, Bishop Wilfred Anagbe to mobilize protesters in Abuja and to as well address a World Press Conference in Abuja next week as a way to further damage the image of the Nigeria government and that of Benue State by portraying the state and the entire country as unsafe to live in.
This plot is to follow up on the image damaging which Bishop Anagbe did to the Federal Government and Benue State when he recently addressed the United States Congress in Washington, DC.
Recall that during the appearance before the US Congress, Anagbe pointedly told the world that genocides are being promoted, sponsored and aided by the federal government as well as the government of Benue State.
“Yes, Bishop Anagbe will be addressing a World Press Conference next week and this is coming at the instance of both Matthias Byuan and Pius Akutah and some other people. Prior to this, there will be some massive protests against Benue killings. And this will be sponsored by Anagbe. Both of them are secretly using Anagbe to attack the federal government and the government of Benue State. This is a government that gave them their current jobs and they are using the Catholic Bishop to embarrass the same government. Their plan is for him (Anagbe) to further embarrass the Tinubu-led administration and that of Benue State” one of the Benue APC stakeholders who recently teamed up with the Alia camp told this newspaper..
