The Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC) is set to partner with five-time Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) champion, Francesca Ordega OON, to establish a football academy aimed at grooming female football talents in the state.
The Group Managing Director of BIPC, Dr Raymond Asemakaha-CFA, disclosed this when he received Miss Francesca Ordega after her five times record win of Women’s African Cup of Nation held in Morocco.
Dr. Asemakaha commended the international football icon for elevating Benue State’s profile on the global stage and expressed the company’s readiness to invest in initiatives that can yield both social and economic value inline with the vision of His Excellency Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the Executive Governor of Benue State.
“We’re excited to receive you today and we are ready to support you. We are a business entity but are ready to invest into any business that can give us profit, so we will partner with you in developing sports in our dear state.”
The BIPC boss also assured Ordega of the company’s full support for her proposed outreach to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the state.
In her remarks, Francesca Ordega lauded the GMD for spearheading an industrial revival in Benue and praised the company’s production of local brands like Zeva Premium Beer, Oyi Bitters, bread, water, solar cars, and Emperor Fertilizer.
She appealed for support from BIPC in actualizing her dream of building a football academy that will serve as a springboard for young female footballers across Benue State.
In a vote of thanks, Head of Department, Finance and Accounts, Terver Bosua applauded Ordega for spotlighting Benue on the international map.
