**Zam reelection bid hangs
**Amaechi prepares soft landing for Jime
Nigerian Concord Newspaper can authoritatively report the imminent defection of both Senator Titus Zam and Barrister Emmanuel Jime from the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
While Dr. Zam, the current senator representing Benue Northwest Senatorial Zone at the National Assembly has concluded plans to move to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Barrister Jime, a former governorship candidate of the APC in 2019 has secretly perfected his defection to the African Democratic Congress.
According to findings, Jime is planning to leave the All Progressive Congress over his inability to control or mobilize for the last Ward and Local Government Congresses across the seven local governments that in Benue Northwest .
For Senator Titus Zam, his reason to leave the ruling party is the inability of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume to control the structure of the party in Benue state.
Inside sources said Senator Zam’s movement to the People’s Democratic Party is backed by Senator George Akume who insists on returning him back to the Senate.
However, checks within the Senatorial Zone indicated that the senator is also suffering loss of support as a result of his poor performance and bad representation at the Senate.
It was also gathered that the senator might face several hurdles in the election because the people of the zone are asking questions about the whereabouts of over N2billion he has collected from the federal government for Constituency projects.
The people of the zone are also angry with the senator for his failure to stand with them in the face of fulani attacks especially the one in Yelwata area of Guma local government.
“Yes, I can confirm that Oga (Zam) will be moving to the PDP anytime from now since it’s clear that he won’t be able to secure the APC ticket under the leadership of Governor Hyacinth Alia .
On the other hand, Barrister Emmanuel Jime has been meeting both Rotimi Amaechi and Herman Hembe in order to get a consensus nomination of the African Democratic Congress to fly the party’s flag against the candidate of the All Progressive Congress.
Recall that Barrister who didn’t show up at the Ward Congress of the ruling party was also unable to grab any structure within the Senatorial Zone in the local government Congress.
Also recall that while Jime was planning to move to the ADC last year, he refused to attend attend major events of the ruling party like the Pre-decamping dinner as well as the stakeholders meeting held in Makurdi.
Meanwhile, people of the zone are asking questions about the poor performance of Barrister Jime as the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and a member of the House of Representatives.
According to them, the lawyer had nothing to show as his achievements during his state and national assignments as public office holder.
Investigation by this newspaper showed that Jime will be meeting the National Chairman of the ADC, Senator David Mark next week in order to finalize his defection.
He has also reportedly started assembling groups from the seven local government areas of Benue Northwest Senatorial Zone that will decamp with him to ADC.
In a related development, Benue Assembly speaker, Hon. Berger Alfred is currently facing criticism over how he manhandled a reporter of Channels TV recently.
