Concerned Benue Northwest Professionals Group, CBNPG, has called on the Chief Medical Director of Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Stephen Hwande to show his interest in the 2027 Senatorial contest of the zone as a way to demonstrate his love for the people of the zone who have not felt the presence of the Federal Government as a result of the poor representation of Senator Titus Zam.
The group which made the call to Dr. Hwande in a press statement signed by its President, Chief Daniel Haakyav this morning stated that his track records are enough to prove that he will deliver Benue Northwest from the shackles of Dr. Zam who is spiritedly making efforts to return to the Red Chambers in 2027 despite that he has absolute nothing to show for his years in the Senate.
The group stated that Dr. Hwande has demonstrated through his achievements since he was appointed as the CMD of BSUTH by Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia that he will perform more if given a higher responsibility.
According to the group, the call on Dr. Hwande to join the 2027 senatorial race was a result of his giant strides in all areas as the CMD of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital in Makurdi.
In the statement, the group which is made up of high-calibred professionals of various fields from Benue Zone B begged Dr. Hwande to come and use his wealth of experience to draw federal presence to the senatorial zone in 2027.
The group went further that it will soon write the state governor to join them in pleading with Hwande to accept to a call to lead a rescue mission for the senatorial zone which they said has been drawn backward because of Senator Titus Zam’s inability to perform well.
The group challenged the senator to give an account of his stewardship within the last two years as a senator, noting that he has failed woefully and has nothing to show for the several hundreds of millions which he has collected from the Senate as his Constituency projects.
“Let Senator Zam come and show what he has done to merit the several hundreds of millions Naira which he had been given at the Senate. It’s on record that he does take more than N35 million as his monthly take home apart from the over N800 million which has had been given for Constituency projects but despite this, he has nothing to show for it.
“The only project to his name was the sharing of few foods to some people in Gwer recently. While other senators are busy doing Constituency projects, Senator Zam is busy wasting public funds on fighting a political war against the state government.
“We are now calling on Dr. Hwande and giving him an order to yield to this call to come and use his wealth of experience to rescue our zone. We won’t stop until he yields to our calls,and we shall also reach out to Governor Hyacinth Alia to also help us talk to him.
“Right now, we are planning to embark on a visit to all the traditional rulers in the zone to also join us in prevailing on Dr. Hwande to come to rescue the zone” the group said..
