Benue Insecurity: Governor Alia must quickly sack Kula Tersoo before he does him harm with his media outings

By Aare Abiodun Oluwarotimi

As a Yoruba man with a maternal tie to Gboko East local government area of Benue State, I read with a total disappointment, the response of Mr. Kula Tersoo, one of the media Aides of Governor Hyacinth Alia, to a Live Television Interview granted by a former AGF Mike Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN this morning on Arise TV.

In the interview, Chief Aondoakaa innocently spoke as a lover of Benue people, as a true son of Benue State and as someone who is so much concerned and troubled about how the people of the State are being killed everyday.

Throughout the interview which lasted for about twenty five minutes, the former Attorney General of the Federation didn’t speak as a governorship aspirant. Even when he was professionally asked by one of the interviewers to speak on how he would tackle insurgence if he is made governor in 2027, Chief Aondoakaa still chose to speak like a Benue stakeholder who was not on the screen to tackle the administration of Governor Alia.

So what prompted Kula Tersoo’s Social Media outing where he insulted a man who was even advising His Excellency on how to tackle insecurity just like his predecessors did?

Recall that Kula was always throwing stones at Governor Hyacinth Alia while he was working as one of Chief Kaase’s media handlers between 2021 and 2022. Kula at several occasions described Alia and other aspirants as a devil that could never rule Benue State just as he was showcasing the qualities of Chief Aondoakaa who was his paymaster as at that time.

My little brother Kula, what went wrong? This man never spoke like an aspirant, though he didn’t say he won’t contest once the ban is lifted. This man didn’t say a single word against Governor Hyacinth Alia or his administration so what went wrong that you took a man who had paid your children school fees, paid your house rent, paid for the repair of your rickety car, fed you and clothed you several times to the social media for a public insult? We are activists in Benue state and we will not let this slide just as you wish..

I love Father Alia so much but this outing from his Press Secretary will cause him more harm than good if he fails to do the needful. This must be the same way eighty percent of activists like me will feel right now..

If not for indiscipline, how would half-baked journalists like Kula get near the gate of the Government House not to talk of speaking for an Executive Governor? Can we compare his poor expertise with that of Solomon Iorpev who would always sensor his statements? Too bad.

Now, let’s make it clear. Chief Kaase Aondoakaa didn’t say that there was no insurgence during the administration of Chief Samuel Ortom, PhD. He only said that there was no occupation of fulani herdsmen in any of Benue lands during his eight years as governor, and that is simply the truth. Chief Ortom stood against it.

That Chief Ortom didn’t allow fulani occupation on Benue lands was why he was demonized, profiled and attacked severally by the administration of Late Muhammadu Buhari. Kula should get this right, and stop writing over every issue he comes across.

To be continued.
