The Benue State chapter of All Progressive Congress led by Chief (Dr) Benjamin Omale has congratulated the people of Benue State, the state government as well as Governor Hyacinth Alia over the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Federal Government for the implementation of the Sustainable Integrated Productive Community (SIPC) program.
The party which sent its congratulatory message in a press statement signed by the state chairman, Chief Benjamin Omale stated that the new elevation will assist Benue State in its agricultural productivities.
Omale stated that the elevation of Benue State as a member of the Sustainable Integrated Productive Community is part of the achievements of Governor Hyacinth Alia in the area of agriculture.
According to him, the governor has performed excellently well in the area of agriculture, adding that the initiative will provide an enabling environment for Benue farmers to operate.
Furthermore, Omale stated that the SIPC, if fully implemented will provide better conditions for farmers to thrive, including solar powered housing, seedlings, inputs like fertilizers and herbicides, and off-takers who convert produce to secondary products.
The APC chairman praised Governor Alia over the provision of 100 hectares of land across the state for the program just as he explained that the initiative will boost farming and make it attractive in Benue state.
He also lauded President Bola Tinubu for having Benue State in the most important part of his heart by ensuring that the State isn’t left behind in every developmental scheme of the Federal administration..
Meanwhile, the state government has said that with fully operational, the SIPC will close up the housing deficit in the state, provide free farm seedlings and inputs for Benue farmers, facilitate conversion of produce to secondary products thus eradicating post harvest losses, make farming more viable and attractive thus increasing food security. The SIPC will also and very importantly, assist in resetting willing IDPs within the safe farming communities.
Recall that the SIPC program is domiciled with the Ministry Of Finance Incorporated which holds majority shares in the Nigerian Sovereign Wealth Fund to fund investments.
