The National Working Committee of the All Progressive Congress says that the Benjamin Omale-led Unity Caretaker Committee remains the only recognized ruling body of the party in Benue state.
This was disclosed to NIGERIAN CONCORD NEWSPAPER during a telephone interview Friday evening by Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Bashiru, PhD, the National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress.
During the telephone interview, the National Secretary of the Umar Ganduje-led NWC also stated that the former State chairman of APC in Benue state and members of his executive council remain dissolved.
According to Bashiru during the telephone chat with this newspaper, an official letter which he signed on behalf of the National Working Committee has since February 21, 2025 been given to Chief Benjamin Omale to remain as the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the party in Benue state.
He noted that the February 21, 2025 letter was sequel to the expiration of Omale’s first tenure as Chairman of the Benue State APC Caretaker Committee.
He added that same confirmation letters were also given to six other members of the Caretaker Committee as an official renewal of their tenure immediately their first appointment expired.
He however urged Austin Agada to shelf the idea of going to the state Secretariat of the APC in Makurdi tomorrow to assume duties, stressing that he has not been returned by the National Working Committee of the party.
