Ajana Afa of Okeagbe to mark first glorious year on the throne next month

The people of Afa Okeagbe Akoko in Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State are set to celebrate a historic milestone as His Imperial Majesty, Oba Mofolorunso Samuel Adegboyega Arasanyin, Okeladeokin, Arole Agba I, the Ajana Afa of Okeagbe, marks his first glorious year on the throne.

The momentous celebration is scheduled to hold on Saturday, August 23, 2025, and will reflect on a year of purposeful leadership, royal grace, cultural rejuvenation, and community development under the reign of His Imperial Majesty.

In a statement issued by the, Chairman, Central Working Committee, High Chief Stephen Adewumi in Akure, the Ondo State capital said since his ascension to the throne, Oba Arasanyin has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the peace, unity, and progress of Okeagbe and its surrounding communities.

According to him, Oba Arasanyin leadership has been marked by wisdom, humility, and a deep respect for tradition, earning him the admiration of his subjects and stakeholders far and near.

“As part of the anniversary celebration, a series of events will be held, bringing together dignitaries from across the state and beyond, including royal fathers, government officials, community leaders, and sons and daughters of Afa Okeagbe community both at home and in the diaspora.

The programme of events are, Day 1
Thursday 21st August 2025
Environmental Sanitation
Time7am and other Sporting activities. (Ayo-opon, swimming etc).
Time:- 12 noon.

Day2, Friday 22nd August, 2025
Installation of New Chiefs.
Exhibition of Afa Royal Diadem and Artifacts. Time:- 10am, and Jumat Service @ Okeagbe Akoko Central Mosque Time:- 1pm

Shekere Dance and cultural display by Olori Aofin and Afa Women at the Palace
Time:- 3pm

Day 3, Sturday 23rd August, 2025
Grand Finale of 1st year Anniversary and Installation of Honourary Chiefs. at Ajana’s Palace, Afa-Okeagbe
Time:- 10am

Day 4, Sunday 24th August, 2025
Thanksgiving Service @ St.George’s Anglican Church, Okeagbe Akoko
Time :- 10am
