The Jechira Development Forum has warned Asom Jerry, one of the media handlers of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume to focus on constructive criticism rather than his cheap blackmail against the government of Benue State under Governor Hyacinth Alia.
The group in a media note posted on Facebook this afternoon said that Mr. Asom is being economical with truths in all his recent media outings on the activities of the Benue State government.
According to the group, all the report which he has made also on the crisis within the All Progressive Congress over the substitution of National Assembly candidates list are far from the truth as none of the events he has been reported ever took place.
The Jechira Development Forum noted with dismay that it has discovered that Asom is being sponsored by the political camp of Senator George Akume to distablize the state.
According to the group, the hatchet job he is doing is a result of the ongoing leadership tussle between Governor Hyacinth Alia and the former governor who insisted that he must control the party structure in Benue state despite that “it’s clear that a governor of a state is the leader of the party in his state”.
The group recalled how the media handler who is acting under a direct instruction of members of the SGF’s political camp has reported “fake” news of corruption, poor governance and bribery against Governor Alia and members of his administration.
The group however warned that it will personally institute a case of libel, defamation of character and cyber bullying against the individual if he continues to feed the public with “wicked” lies about the administration and the All Progressive Congress in the state.
According to the group, several evidences have been secured through screenshots of his blackmails against Governor Alia, his cabinet members, his associates and the APC, and these will be tendered as exhibits against him in a competent court of he continues with his hatchet job.
The group however advised SGF Akume to warn Jerry to stop writing things that could set Benue State on fire under the guide that he is defending him (Akume) in the ongoing leadership tussle between him and Governor Alia.
“We have gotten enough proof that he is being sponsored by Senator George Akume’s political camp led by Titus Zam and we won’t hesitate to drag him to court if he continues.
“Perhaps he doesn’t know, the case of cyber bullying is a serious offense in Nigeria and soon, he will be answering for all the lies he has told the public about the present administration” the media note reads in parts.
