Chief Aondoakaa stated this today in his acceptance speech as the PDP governorship candidate for Benue State 2027 general elections.

FORMAL ACCEPTANCE SPEECH OF CHIEF MICHAEL KAASE AONDOAKAA, SAN AS THE PDP GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE FOR BENUE STATE (2027) GENERAL ELECTIONS, ON SUNDAY, 24TH MAY, 2026
The National Leader of our Party, His Excellency, Chief Nyesom Wike;
The National Chairman of PDP;
The National Leadership of our great Party, the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP);
The Leader of our Party in Benue State, His Excellency,
Chief Dr. Samuel Ioraer Ortom;
The Senate Minority Leader
The State Chairman of the PDP;
The State Executive Committee (Exco) and State
Working Committee (SWC) of our Party;
All other Candidates for respective positions
The G14 and G9 of our Party in Benue State;
Local Government Coordinators;
My Esteemed Co-Aspirants, whose spirit of sportsmanship and love for our party has made this day possible;
Distinguished Party Faithfuls;
All Stakeholders of our Party, both here in Benue State and at the National level;
My Beloved Family;
My loyal Supporters, Party and Business Associates,
Friends, and Well-Wishers;
Members of our great Party, the PDP;
Gentlemen of the Press;
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I stand before you today with profound humility, deep gratitude, and a strong sense of responsibility as I accept the nomination as the Gubernatorial Candidate of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party, for the 2027 governorship election in Benue State.
First and foremost, I give glory to Almighty God for His Grace, Guidance, and Mercy throughout this journey.
I sincerely thank the leadership of our great party, the PDP, our respected members, elders, supporters, and every stakeholder who has reposed confidence in me to carry this noble mandate. I do not take this trust for granted.
I must specially acknowledge my Co-Aspirants. Today, we proved that the PDP is a family. Your decision to place the interest of the Benue people above personal ambition is the highest form of statesmanship. You are not just my former competitors; you are my brothers and partners in the mission to rescue and rebuild Benue. I promise to carry along your visions and ideas as we embark on this journey. Today’s outcome is a victory for unity, democracy and the future of our dear Benue State.
My fellow Benue people,
Our State stands at a critical point in its history. Across our communities, our people desire peace, security, economic growth, justice, and responsive leadership. Our farmers want to return safely to their farms. Our youth seek opportunities, not promises. Our women deserve empowerment and protection. Our civil servants and pensioners deserve dignity and timely rewards for their labour.
The task before us is enormous, but together, we can rebuild hope and restore confidence in governance.
When entrusted with the mandate of the people in 2027, my administration shall focus on;
i. immediately halting the attacks and bloodshed in our communities and enforcing the protection of lives and property across Benue communities in a sustainable manner;
ii. revitalizing agriculture and rural development within
the context of Benue State being the “Food Basket of the Nation;”
iii. empowering youths and women through
employment and enterprise;
iv. improving infrastructure, healthcare, and education; promoting industrial growth and economic opportunities;
v. ensuring justice, transparency, and accountable
governance; and
vi. reuniting and reconciling our people beyond political, ethnic, or sectional divides.
Benue belongs to all of us. This campaign will not be built on bitterness, division, or hatred. It shall be on an issue-based campaign that emphasizes ideas, solutions, unity and service.
I call on every member of the PDP to close ranks and work together as one united family. The journey ahead requires sacrifice, commitment, and collective determination. We must take our message to every ward, every local government, and every household across our dear state.
To the youth of Benue, I hear your voices and understand your aspirations. You are not the leaders of tomorrow alone; you are critical partners today.
To our women, your strength, resilience, and contributions to society remain invaluable, and you shall always have a seat at the table of governance.
To our elders whose dignity is being eroded and respect is trampled upon in the State shall have these restored with reverence they deserve. We shall create a Geriatric Health Care for the elderly.
To our traditional rulers, religious leaders, and elders, we seek your prayers, wisdom, and continued support.
My dear Benue people,
Let me finally state that, ours is a Movement to restore dignity and protect lives and property of Benue people and everyone carrying out lawful business in Benue State. Let us move forward with courage, unity, and faith for a new Benue of Peace, Progress, and Prosperity.
