The Benue State Motorcycle Owners Association (BEMOA), Terwase Agbadu Branch, has officially endorsed Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa as its candidate for the 2027 Benue State governorship election.
The endorsement was made during a meeting with members of the association, where the union expressed confidence in Aondoakaa’s leadership capacity, experience, and commitment to the welfare of the common people.
Speaking through their branch leader, Raphael Akpi, the association lamented the disappointment they suffered after working tirelessly for a candidate during the 2023 elections, only to be abandoned after he won the election. According to them, they were subsequently compelled to pay outrageous sums of money with promises of cooperative empowerment and financial support that never materialized.
The BEMOA members stated that their painful experiences have made them more cautious in choosing leaders, stressing that they now seek a leader who genuinely understands and identifies with the struggles of ordinary people.
The union, however, expressed strong belief in Chief Aondoakaa’s sincerity and compassion, citing his track record of impactful projects in their community. They recalled that during his tenure as Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Aondoakaa established a factory in the area, which has continued to provide employment opportunities for many youths and created a steady source of livelihood for local farmers and families.
The association pledged its unalloyed support and loyalty to Aondoakaa’s gubernatorial ambition, assuring him of their readiness to mobilize support ahead of the 2027 elections.
Responding on behalf of Chief Aondoakaa, Rt. Hon. Christopher Afaor thanked the association for the rare show of solidarity and overwhelming confidence reposed in him. He assured the union that the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice not only understands the plight of the common people, but has also demonstrated practical commitment towards improving their living conditions.
He further stated that, if given the mandate to govern Benue State, Chief Aondoakaa would implement policies and programmes that would uplift not only motorcycle operators, but also the entire people of Benue State through inclusive development, job creation, and people-oriented governance.
