Yesterday, a former Minister for Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN granted a live Television Interview on Arise TV where he said that there was no fulani occupation on Benue lands during the reign of Chief Samuel Ortom, PhD as governor of the State.
According to Chief Aondoakaa, there were fulani attacks but there was no occupation on any of Benue’s land as a result of the doggedness of the former governor. This implies that the attackers would come, attack and run away as a result of their fears for the security architecture in place.
To the best of my observation, the former AGF didn’t speak like someone who hates the governor. He however innocently advised him to follow the methods which his predecessor used to prevent occupation of fulani herdsmen in Benue.
Meanwhile, one of the media Aides to the governor, Isaac Uzaan took to the social media where he ignorantly accused the former AGF of a direct involvement in the already-concluded Halliburton Scam, leaving the cogent points in his Arise TV interview out.
Recall that Halliburton is an oil service company formerly run by Dick Cheney.
To every reasonable person, this means that Uzaan doesn’t have any information about Nigeria and even Benue State where he is working as a media Aide to a sitting governor. Does he still have anything to offer the governor? Won’t he ignorantly accuse the same governor he is defending one day that he was also involved in the Halliburton Scam as a result of his half -baked media training?
As a journalist or a media Aide to any public office holder, you are expected to be well informed about any issue you are raising to tackle a perceived enemy of your principal. For Uzaan, he has no idea and this is a pointer to where state government information and documents are leaking to media influencers in the state.
Kula and Uzaan haven’t been able to attack media influencers that have been writing negatively about their principal since last year just because they are half-baked and not informed..
Let me quickly educate Uzaan and his co-travellers on the Halliburton Scam in just two lines.
This issue has been resolved by the court and Mohammed Bello Adoke, the Attorney General of the Federation under Goodluck Jonathan whose administration was directly involved in the scam was cleared by Justice Abubakar Kutigi of the FCT high court Abuja in 2024. The judge said that the EFCC failed to prove his involvement in the bribery.
Another angle to this is that Chief Kaase Aondoakaa had nothing to do with the payments in the Halliburton Scam and he was not directly or indirectly involved in it. He was not the AGF at the time the said payments were made. Bello Adoke was the AGF so my little brother, Isaac Uzaan should quickly apologize before he starts talking in court for trying to defame a reputable SAN like Aondoakaa. Better still, Governor Hyacinth Alia can relief these two killers of his administration of their positions before they start telling the court that he was the one that asked them to falsely blackmail Chief Kaase Aondoakaa in their quest to defend him (Alia) over his (Kaase) Arise TV live interview.
is clear that Chief Kaase Aondoakaa, as AGF under late Umaru Yar’Adua between 2007 and 2010 did not negotiate or authorize any payment to the Nigeria Government with KBR firm, a subsidiary of Halliburton as alleged .
It’s laughable for Isaac Uzaan to accuse the former AGF of a direct involvement in the scam when it’s a known fact that payments made to the government of Nigeria from the Halliburton were done in 2012 when Chief Mike Kaase Aondoakaa SAN had left office.
Goodluck Jonathan’s administration was the one in place during the Halliburton bribery, and as a matter of fact, it was this fund that he (Jonathan) used to procure a Private Jet for the Presidential Fleet of Aircrafts. How does this concern Chief Kaase Aondoakaa who was never AGF under Goodluck Jonathan?
