Aondoakaa urges Kwande to unite against insecurity, underdevelopment

The former Attorney General and Minister for Justice of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the “Ivaanayange i Tiv,” Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, has called on the people of Kwande to unite as one so they can fight against insecurity and poor performance from political leaders.

High Chief Aondoakaa made this call in Ushongo at a reception recently organized by the Kwande Intermediate Area Traditional Council and the Kwande United Peoples Organization to honour him over the honorific Chieftaincy title that was conferred on him by the Tiv Traditional Council.

In his speech, Chief Kaase Aondoakaa passionately appealed for a spirit of oneness among the sons and daughters of the Kwande intermediate area, emphasizing that unity is essential to attract meaningful development and find lasting solutions to the insecurity plaguing its people.

The former AGF who offered thanks to God for the privilege also expressed deep appreciation to the Tor Kwande, His Royal Highness Ambrose Pine Iortyer, and his Council of Chiefs for the great honor bestowed upon him. He pledged to continue working for the greater good of the Kwande people and the Tiv nation at large.

Earlier in his remarks, the Tor Kwande extolled the dedicated service of the honorees to the Tiv nation and Kwande in particular. He passionately urged the youths to desist from vices and to emulate the lives of these worthy sons.
Other speakers, including the Ter Ushongo, the Ter Kwande, the Member Representing Mata in the State Assembly, Hon. Simon Gabo, and Chief Mrs. Veronica Gajir, all offered prayers for more strength and grace for the honorees to keep shining the light of Kwande.

Chief Aondoakaa was accompanied to the reception by his wife, Chief Mrs. Susan Aondoakaa, his mother, Mama Veronica Aondoakaa, Rt. Hon. Christopher Afaor, Hon. Terwase Akume, Hon. Ngusha Aondoakaa, Hon. Bolingo Leva, and several other dignitaries.

ABOUT THE IVAANAYANGE TITLE:

The title “Ivaanayange i Tiv,” conferred on Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa SAN, signifies that he has been recognized as a symbol of strength, courage, and leadership by the Tiv traditional council.

In Tiv culture, “Ivaan” means arrow, a powerful weapon used in wars and hunting. “Ivaanayange” refers to a sophisticated arrow prepared with traditional rituals, known for its deadly accuracy and effectiveness. The title implies that Chief Aondoakaa is a force to be reckoned with, capable of resolving complex issues and bringing stability to the Tiv community.

His wife, Chief Mrs. Susanna Nguvan Aondoakaa, being conferred with the title “Akor u Ivaanayange i Tiv”, likely signifies her own importance and contributions to the community, as “Akor” might imply a supportive or complementary role to the “Ivaanayange”.
