Engineer Livinus Adzer Tsar, the convener of Livitsar Support Group and a close ally of Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State said that he backed the process which led to the restoration of Shangev-Tiev constituency because of his love for the people and not for anyone to sing his praises.
Dr. Tsar made this known today when a high-powered delegation from Shangev-Tiev, the oldest and most distinguished social group in the area, paid an appreciation visit to him at his Makurdi residence.
The delegation, led by Engr. Mitim Dzungu, President-General of the Shangev-Tiev Development Association (SHADA), comprised prominent sons of the land, including Hon. Vitalis Ayomaa, Prof. Mrs. Bibaina Igbabul, Prof. Iorliam Sylvester, and Hon. Philips Achuah .
Their mission was to express gratitude for Dr. Tsar’s instrumental role in restoring the Shangev-Tiev constituency.
Addressing the delegation, Dr. Livi Tsar expressed heartfelt gratitude for the visit, explaining that upon being briefed about the issue, he immediately informed the Governor and other key stakeholders.
He noted that he does not seek recognition or glory, for all glory belongs to God but stares that his primary aim is ensuring that the restoration process is completed and that elections are conducted in the restored Shangev-Tiev constituency.
Dr. Tsar assured the delegation that with the court victory secured, the final steps with INEC would be concluded before the upcoming elections.
In his remarks, Engr. Metim praised Dr. Tsar for his commitment to ensuring the constituency’s restoration. He recalled how the case had previously been struck out, causing disappointment among the people. However, he noted that through Dr. Tsar’s efforts, the restoration has now become a reality. He emphasized that the people of Shangev-Tiev are fully aware of the sacrifices and strategic interventions made by Dr. Tsar to achieve this milestone.
Hon. Vitalis Ayomar echoed these sentiments, acknowledging the firmness and dedication displayed by Dr. Tsar in ensuring the case was not dismissed as it had been in the past. He expressed surprise that some individuals were attempting to claim credit for the achievement, despite contributing little to the process. Hon. Ayomar invited Dr. Tsar to a Shangev-Tiev “sit-out” event to brief the people on the progress already made with INEC. He stressed that while many make promises only to secure political positions, Dr. Tsar has delivered results without holding any political office.
Prof. Mrs. Bibaina Igbabul thanked Dr. Tsar for the love he has consistently shown toward the Shangev-Tiev people. She noted that such genuine concern for another group is rare and worthy of deep appreciation. Prof. Iorliam Sylvester, drawing inspiration from 1 Samuel 16:7, emphasized that God chooses leaders based on the purity of their hearts, affirming Dr. Tsar’s divine selection as point man for Konshisha.
