PETITION FOR URGENT INVESTIGATION INTO THE SUSPICIOUS DEATH OF OTUNBA BAMIDELE AKINGBOYE (OBA), FORMER SDP GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE IN ONDO STATE*

I, *Henry Idowu Olowu (Ambassador Henry)*, a concerned citizen of Ikale Land and the Founder/President of LYCN – Liberty Youth Council Of Nigeria, write with deep concern and pain over the sudden and suspicious death of *Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA)*, the Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the last general election in Ondo State.
Otunba Akingboye, who was not only a political leader but also a father, brother, and political associate to many of us, was reported dead in the early hours of *3rd September, 2025*, at his residence in VGC, Lagos. Disturbing pictures of his corpse currently circulating online suggest that he was *brutally attacked by some unknown individuals* before his demise.
The circumstances surrounding his death are too suspicious to be dismissed as natural. Given his status, influence, and role in Ondo State politics, we strongly believe that this tragic incident deserves urgent and independent investigation.
In view of the above, I respectfully request that the Nigeria Police Force take the following actions:
1. *Commence a thorough investigation* into the death of Otunba Bamidele Akingboye without delay.
2. Direct the Nigeria Police Force Lagos State Police Command to *secure his residence at VGC, Lagos*, as a potential crime scene for proper forensic analysis.
3. Ensure that an *autopsy is conducted by independent forensic experts* to determine the true cause of death.
4. Identify, question, and investigate all possible *suspects, including those with political or personal links* to the deceased.
5. Provide regular updates to his family, associates, and the general public to guarantee *transparency and justice* in the process.
Otunba Akingboye’s death is not just a loss to his immediate family but a painful blow to Ondo State and Nigeria at large. Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done.
I strongly appeal to your esteemed office to act with urgency, professionalism, and fairness to ensure that the perpetrators of this heinous act are brought to book and the truth unveiled.
May the soul of Otunba Bamidele Akingboye rest in peace.
