If there is anyone that no public office holder should take serious or reckon with, Mr. Terrence Kuanum the self-acclaimed security expert who is presently the Media Adviser to SGF George Akume is the one.
Recall that Terrence Kuanum has been causing confusions here and there in Benue state in term of security with his fraudulent Benue Youth Council which he imposed himself on as the president.
Going down the memory lane, Terrence Kuanum, a serial blackmailer was with Senator George Akume when he was governor of Benue state in 1999. Then, he was praising Akume and calling his perceived political enemies series of unprintable names. Terrence would insult his biological father for a pot of porridge.
Immediately Senator Gabriel Suswam took over as governor of Benue state and a political crisis began between him and his predecessor, Mr. Terrence Kuanum shifted ground and started calling Akume whom he had earlier praised as the Messaiah of Benue state bad names.
Part of the names which Kuanum called Akume (who had then become a senator) between 2008 and 2014 just because he was eating from the toilet of Gabriel Suswam were “thief, security vote diverter, incompetent former governor, failed senator etc. At a point, Terrence Kuanum organized a press conference then to organize the recall of Akume from the Senate.
No week passed without Terrence Kuanum attack the then Senator George Akume in the media through his pressure group.
In 2015 when Gabriel Suswam could no longer afford the bill, Terrence Kuanum started to attack the same Gabriel Suswam, calling him several unprintable names like a N107 Billion thief, a fraudster, a failed former governor and so on even though the then governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, PhD was against his media attacks on his predecessor.
Chief Ortom reportedly asked Terrence Kuanum to stop hiding under his administration to attack Benue leaders. As a matter of fact, the Ortom-led administration refused to patronize Kuanum as a result of his desire to hide under his administration to blackmail members of the political class with his Benue Youth Council.
In 2018, when Senator George Akume and Chief Ortom briefly parted ways politically, Kuanum took it upon himself to be attacking Akume on daily basis. Chief Ortom again went against the idea.
Terrence Kuanum who has now forced his way into the house of Akume as his media Adviser used his Benue Youth Council to accused the former governor as the one that was financing Fulani herdsmen to kill farmers in their hundreds between 2015 and 2023.
Terrence at some points asked Akume to stay away from Benue state. He actually mobilized thousands of youths on his own to protest against Akume whom he described in the media as a thief and organizer of Fulani massacres in Benue state.
Today, Terrence Kuanum is part of the people that are calling for the head of the current governor of the state, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia just because of the difference between him and his paymaster, Akume.
Presently, Terrence Kuanum has been using his Benue Youth Council to cause serious security issues in Benue state just because he is now eating in the toilet of Senator Akume.
Can we ask Terrence Kuanum if Akume had stopped being a thief and financier of Fulani herdsmen that are killing the people of Benue state?
To Terrence, what qualifies him to be a media Adviser to a man he had fought for more than twenty years with several name callings?
Who is a bigger thief between Akume and Terrence Kuanum who is already having a serious in-house fight with other media handlers of the SGf that have been accusing him of stealing funds that are being released by their Oga for media relations?
The former State Publicity Secretary of the Benue APC, Dan Morgan Ihomun has written on the social media several times on how Terrence Kuanum is diverting funds that are released by Senator Akume for his media handlers.
Let’s ask Terrence Kuanum why he is so comfortable working as a media Adviser to a man he has always called a killer and sponsor of fulani marauders in Benue state for more than 20 years.
