The Chief Scout Association of Nigeria and a philanthropist, Olori Omooba (Dr) Olusoga Sofolahan Atibioke, is dead and will be buried28th of February, 2025 in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
He was aged 56
Under his leadership, it was his belief that the Scout Association of Nigeria (Old name Boy Scout Association of Nigeria) would thrive, becoming a beacon of hope, discipline, and service once again.
His journey started in Scouting in 1974 under the leadership of Pa. J. O. Ojo from Irun Akoko (of blessed memories) at Local Authority Primary School Ilepa Ikare Akoko and he was progressed to be the Troop Leader of the 1st Akoko Troop Victory College Ikare Akoko in 1981 through to 1983 under the leadership of Okhale Momodu (aka Kalimoh) of blessed memories.
The funeral arrangement will commence on Wednesday 26th February, 2025, with Night of Tribute and Services of Songs at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Ikota Lagos, 4pm, on 27th February, Wake Keep at his residence at Alagbaka Estate Akure, Ondo State at 4pm.
Camp Fire Night at St. Peter’s Unity Secondary School, besides the State Library Board, Oyemekun Road Akure, Ondo State at 7pm, while the burial service will take place at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Idiagba Titun, Akure, Ondo State at 10 am
Late Dr. Olusoga Sofolahan Atibioke was also President of the Old Students Association of Victory College Ikare Akoko in Ondo State
In his tribute, a prominent traditional ruler, Oba Mofolorunso Samuel Adegboyega Arasanyin, the Ajana of Afa Okeagbe Okeladeokin Arole 1 stated that “I bid you a sorrowful good night, Dr. Oloriomoba Olusoga Shofolahan Atibioke. May God Almighty comfort your family and loved ones during this difficult time.
“Your passing is a tremendous loss to Okeagbe and Akoko at large. We are devastated by your departure, but we take solace in the fact that God Almighty knows best.
“We will deeply miss your invaluable contributions to our community. Your wisdom, expertise, and selfless service have left an indelible mark on our lives. Your absence will be felt in every aspect of our community, and we can only imagine the great things you would have continued to achieve.
“We have offered prayers to God Almighty to protect all sons and daughters of Okeagbe worldwide. May God’s divine presence be with your family, wife, and children you left behind.
“To my people of Okeagbe, I urge you to take heart. May this sad news not happen again in Jesus’ mighty name. May our departed loved ones be elderly, Amen.
“May Dr. Oloriomoba Olusoga Shofolahan Atibioke’s soul rest in perfect peace. May his legacy continue to inspire us, and may we strive to emulate his exemplary life.
“We will cherish the memories of your time with us and continue to celebrate your life, legacy, and contributions to our community”, Oba Arasanyin said.

Ibaram Akoko, Princess Olajumoke Oni, while eulogised the virtues of her late boss, Dr. Olusoga Sofolahan Atibioke said will deeply miss my his wisdom, humour, and generosity of spirit. He would be greatly missed saying that even in death, his legacy lives on through the countless lives he has touched.
“As we are celebrating the life and legacy of an extraordinary leader and more exceptional person. He was more than just a boss to me; he was a mentor, a friend, and a constant source of inspiration.
“With your guidance and support, I grew not only as a professional but also as a person. His door was always open, and his willingness to listen and offer advice was unwavering.
“One of Chief greatest strengths was his ability to bring out the best in people. You had a unique gift for recognizing and nurturing talent, and your leadership was marked by empathy, compassion, and kindness”, the manager noted
In their tributes, Alimi Temitope Aminat, Alabi Taiwo, Fabuda Kolawole, Fabuda Ajoke, Staff of ANDE MFI, Ibaram describing their late boss, Dr. Olusoga Sofolahan, as a model family man and a great Nigerian saying he left a great legacy as a philanthropist.
They observed that their late boss was passionate about education of the youth, prosperity, and wellbeing of mankind and thus invested his energy, love, and resources to building people.
“It is a pity you left with unexpected our boss. Your death came as a big shock to us. Oga came, he saw and conquered. One is happy that he lived and died in Christ. You have rendered your best. We will no longer hear those inspirational words from you again! Oh ! Abebelube, two eye see. Boss , Adieu! Till we meet again’, they added.
