PRESS RELEASE
Judiciary should not set Benue APC on fire
The attention of the Benue Anti Corruption Watch has been called to a satanic plan to use the Judiciary to return the sacked state chairman of the state chapter of All Progressive Congress, Comrade Austin Agada back to office today, November 28, 2024.
Recall that a court has set today to rule on the case between the Benue APC and the state executive committee which was dissolved by the Umar Ganduje-led National Working Committee few months ago.
The state executive committee was dissolved by the National Working Committee as a result of the leadership crisis in the party which had produced two state chairmen, Benjamin Omakolo and Austin Agada.
After the dissolution of the state executive committee, the National Working Committee inaugurated a Unity Caretaker Committee led by Chief Benjamin Omale to pilot the affairs of the party in the state.
Immediately the Austin Agada-led state executive committee was dissolved, he (Agada) ran to court to seek for his reinstatement with the help of the so-called stakeholders of the party in Benue state.
We are calling on the National Judicial Council, NJC to be aware that it’s in the Constitution of the party that the National Working Committee has the right to dissolve the State executive committee of any state where it is perceived that there is a leadership crisis or factions.
We want the NJC to know that the Judiciary has no power to return Austin Agada back to office having being sacked by the National Working Committee as a result of the two factions of the party in Benue state.
Our finding showed that today’s judgement has been compromised and we want to appeal to the NJC not to allow the Judiciary to create further leadership crisis in the Benue state chapter of All Progressive Congress.
In Nigeria today, anyone with money can buy judgement just like the camp of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume is planning to do today so as to return Austin Agada back to office through an illegal mean.
